Bob Nagel Inducted into Hall of Fame

West Palm Beach, FL - Architectural Design Consultants, Inc. (ADCI) founder and president Robert W. Nagel was officially inducted into the World Waterpark Association (WWA) Hall of Fame at the Opening General Session of the WWA's 2017 Symposium and Tradeshow on October 17. The Hall of Fame honors and celebrates visionaries and pioneers who have reached a level of eminence through noteworthy contributions to the advancement and development of the water attractions industry.

Bob's entry into the waterpark arena has humble beginnings. Some of his earliest projects as a sole proprietor were derived from his position as the Village of Lake Delton Building Inspector and becoming a consultant for the Village, which led to working for many of the local business owners. The hospitality nature of the Wisconsin Dells brought Bob his first opportunity to create an indoor aquatic venue at The Polynesian Resort, followed shortly by the Wilderness, then Black Wolf Lodge (predecessor to Great Wolf Resorts).

Bob really “Designed the Dells” having designed 90 percent of the resorts in Wisconsin Dells and surrounding areas. Now 30 years later, Wisconsin Dells is known as the “Waterpark Capital of the World” and considered the birthplace of the indoor waterpark resort industry. It didn't get there without a lot of hard work, dedication and passion from Bob Nagel.

Family and community are at the core of everything Bob does. He has brought his children into the fold, each training in their own unique and diverse areas of interest and ready to support the waterpark industry, the WWA and firm in leadership to the next generation. Most know Bob's a dreamer, and he's realized one of the biggest dreams - having both children working and thriving in the company he founded 30 years ago.

Bob's contributions to the waterpark industry extend from coast to coast with aquatic-focused resorts and facilities that push the envelope, introduce cutting edge features and leave guests with memorable, lifelong experiences. He has expertly guided a multitude of owners and developers through the visioning and design process to fully realize their dreams of creating highly successful, water-centric, family-fun destinations. His dedication to quality, thoroughness and advancing the industry can be seen in every ADCI project from the Poconos Mountains, Pennsylvania to Garden Grove, California.

Within the industry, Bob and ADCI are recognized as having designed more waterpark focused resorts than any other firm in the world. ADCI works on a multitude of projects in various industries across the United States, but nothing gets Bob energized like the prospect of designing another innovative, world-class indoor waterpark resort.
